WHAT METHOD OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?

We accept CASH, PERSONAL CHEQUE [with credit card imprint], VISA, MASTER CARD. There is a 2.5% administrative surcharge. Payments made by cash or cheque will have the surcharge waived. There will be a $50.00 charge for NSF cheques.

HOW SHOULD I BEST PREPARE FOR MY MOVE?

Packing is KEY to a successful move. If you are packing yourself use proper moving boxes if possible, failing that, use boxes that are similar in size. Small boxes (2 cubic foot) for books, magazines, canned goods, etc... Mid size (4-5 cubic foot) for just about everything else. The idea is that your box does not exceed 50 lbs. Please do not use liquor store boxes. Close and tape ALL boxes, label them with a felt tip marker, to indicate what room/area you would like each box placed.

We offer full packing services. Feel free to call us for more detail.

If you wish to speed things along, you can disassemble beds, legs from tables, mirrors from dressers, and any other items you feel should be disassembled to facilitate your move. We are only a phone call away for consultation. 

 

WHAT ABOUT INSURANCE?
For a Local move replacement cost insurance is included in the hourly rate, $300.00 deductible. For long distance moves, we would determine a valuation of your goods and a cost of $5.00/$1000 for provincial relocation's or $8.00/$1000 for national relocation's.

 

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN BUSINESS?
We have been in business in the Ottawa area since 1996. We originated in the Toronto area in 1986. Once we spent a little time in the Ottawa area, we knew this is where we wanted to call home.

 

DO YOU HIRE FROM AGENCIES OR DO YOU HAVE FULL TIME EMPLOYEES?
We never hire from temp. agencies. Since we operate on a small scale we offer individual service, and have very little employee turn over. All of our employees are career movers with years of experience.

 

HOW WILL YOU PROTECT MY FURNITURE?
All furniture will be wrapped in furniture pads and shrink wrapped if necessary. Our rule of thumb is, if it's not a cardboard box, wrap it!

 

WILL YOU PROTECT MY FLOORS OR SHOULD WE PUT SOMETHING DOWN?
We do supply floor runners to cover stairs and the areas most traveled.

 

CAN WE HELP THE MOVERS TO SPEED THINGS ALONG?
Clients are not permitted on the truck for safety and insurance liability reasons. You are welcome to carry one man/woman items closer to the truck so long as the crew is not interfered with while performing there duties. Please do not attempt to carry larger items with a crew member. They are accustomed to working together.

 

CAN WE LEAVE ITEMS IN DRAWERS?
Anything other than clothing must be packed. Oversized furniture, solid hardwood, Armoirs, portable wardrobes should be emptied.

 

WILL THE MOVERS PLACE MY FURNITURE WHERE I WANT IT PLACED?
Absolutely! It's best that you have a floor plan for your furniture placement in your new home. Failing that, so long as you have it straight in your mind where you would like to place each large item, will save double handling.

 

IS THERE A FUEL CHARGE OR ANY OTHER HIDDEN COSTS?
Within the Ottawa area we charge 1 hour travel (at the rate quoted) plus actual move time (3 hour minimum). Pick up/delivery outside of the Ottawa area will have a fuel surcharge of 40 cents/KM and the appropriate travel time charge will apply. There are absolutely NO hidden charges. HST will apply to all charges
